The reason we charge the additional shipping for the
binocular kits is so that the shipping and handling, including postage, will add up to $10. The problem is, CCNow, our credit card service, will currently allow us to charge only one shipping rate for all orders. That is currently $4.50, which is the Priority Mail rate, including delivery confirmation. We do all our AstroMax business on one
account with CCNow, and the $4.50 rate works great for most small packages that we ship. However, for the binocular and telescope kits, there are additional packaging, postage costs, and processing fees due to extra weight and other factors. So we include an additional $6.40 to cover these costs. It can be confusing, but
that is what we have to do right now with the credit card service we use.
Overseas Shipment of the binocular and
telescope kits is also very expensive. We normally change
$15.00 for air mail postage on overseas orders. But again, due
to the extra weight and cost of Air Mail for the binocular and
telescope kits, we must change an additional $25 to your order,
for a total of $40, for overseas shipment of these items.
