Why is the $99 Introductory
Astronomy Kit given an initial shipping & handling charge, and then
an additional amount added on as s&h charge?
CCNow, our credit card service, will currently
allow us to charge only one shipping rate for all orders. For
most of our Shipping & Handling, we use the current Priority Mail
Flat Rate envelope, including delivery confirmation.
We do all our AstroMax business on one
account with CCNow, and the Priority Mail Flat Rate works great for most small packages that we ship. However, for the binocular and telescope kits, there are additional packaging, postage costs, and processing fees due to extra weight and other factors. So we include an additional
amount to cover these costs.
It can be confusing, but
that is what we have to do right now with the credit card service we use.
Overseas Shipment of the binocular and
telescope kits is also very expensive. We normally change
$15.00 for air mail postage on overseas orders. But again, due
to the extra weight and cost of Air Mail for the binocular and
telescope kits, we must change an additional $25 to your order,
for a total of $40, for overseas shipment of these items.
